When expressions are blocked

Expressions are the windows to what goes on in the mind and heart. When expressions are blocked, the experience is one of burden, heaviness, a kind of closeness. It’s like something is locked up inside and is struggling. There may also be a sense of void, as if something is missing, something that was so alive is suddenly quiet and is trying to peep its head out through the pores of the soul. When normal expression is affected, it would be wrong to state that there is an absence of expression. What is absent is verbalized, intentional and situation based expression. But there may be an experience of moods which are lower than usual and a high level of sensitivity. Suddenly, something may make you feel so low to the extent of making you cry, doubt yourself and take you in the space of loneliness. As an afterthought, you wonder, “what was so big about the thing that made you react in the way you did?”.  There may be a lack of interest in conversations, activities and a sort of comfort in doing mundane or repetitive things which one would otherwise not do. There may be also outbursts of irritation, mood swings and a general sense of angst about the way things are.  There may be an increase in some health related issues - from pimples to pains to chronic illnesses or anything else affecting healthy living. That’s the time to ask yourself – “ What is it that I am holding back?”. Whether you want it or not, what needs expression will get expression.  “HOW” its gets it is your choice.
